The process is intentionally simple. The substance of the work is in the clinical relationship, not in the workflow. What follows is what actually happens between the day you book a consultation and the day, months later, when your protocol has settled into a quiet rhythm.
Consultation
The consultation is a 30-minute video conversation with Dr. Luria. It is the first and most important step. Everything that follows depends on what is decided here.
Before the call, you complete an intake covering medical history, current medications and supplements, training and recovery, sleep, goals, and any baseline lab work you have available. Dr. Luria reads this in advance.
During the visit, he reviews the intake with you, asks clarifying questions, shares his clinical impression, and either discusses an appropriate protocol or recommends an alternative direction. There is no script.
He may say yes. He may say not yet. He may recommend a different protocol than the one you came in asking about, or suggest addressing foundational health (sleep, training, labs, lifestyle) before introducing peptide therapy at all.
Already have recent bloodwork?
Dr. Luria reviews existing labs during your consultation and tells you whether they're sufficient for the protocol he's considering. If your labs cover what's clinically needed, you don't have to redraw at Quest or LabCorp. If they don't, or if Dr. Luria needs additional markers your existing labs don't cover, Helix can order what's needed at direct-to-patient pricing.
Protocol
If Dr. Luria sets a protocol, your prescription is sent that day to the licensed 503A compounding pharmacy partner that prepares Helix's formulary.
The medication is compounded specifically for you and shipped directly to your home in discreet packaging. Refrigeration is handled where the formulation requires it; instructions arrive with the package.
Most protocols are self-administered by subcutaneous injection. Written and video instruction is provided, and most patients are comfortable with the technique within the first one or two attempts.
If anything seems off (a reaction, a question about timing, a missed dose), you message Dr. Luria directly through the patient platform. You do not call a triage line.
Ongoing care
Follow-up consultations happen on a cadence Dr. Luria sets, typically more frequent at the start of a protocol while response is being characterized, then less frequent as it stabilizes.
Protocols evolve. Doses are adjusted, peptides are transitioned, additions and discontinuations happen as the clinical picture changes. The protocol you start with is rarely the protocol you end with.
Between visits, communication runs through secure messaging on the patient platform. Questions, side effects, and small adjustments do not require a new appointment.
This is not set-and-forget. Peptide therapy works because of the ongoing physician relationship behind it, not because of the prescription itself. The relationship is the medicine.
